Boys Varsity Football vs. Trinity High School
Boys Varsity FootballBow Football completes the regular season with a disappointing hard fought loss last night. Thank you to all who came to support the team, and the game workers. Though we did play significantly better in the second half, the first half margin was simply too large. Still, I commend the team for the desire; we now set our sights on Playoff Week I.

JV Falcons harass Hawks for 4-1 Friendly win
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerBow capitalizes on opportunity to avenge 6-0 drubbing by Hopkinton in preseason game. Isaac Roz helped turn the tables with 2 snipes, the 2nd of which looking like it may have come off the foot of Spanish teen prodigy Lamine-Yamal. From 25 yards out, Roz launches a canon that curves into the top right hand corner, bar down. Did he just do that! Cam Harrington steps up from his usual center back position to hussle a goal as a striker. Eli Ordway started the scoring and German exchange student Jaden Lerch nabs a couple assists, one on Ordway’s goal and the other on a Roz finish. Gabe Abberton looked next-level at his goalkeeper position, including a PK save late in the game.

Again, well done Bow Football!

JV Falcons profit from their 5-hour commute with 2-0 win over Kennett
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerCaptain Trey Catenza captures rare keeper PK goal to get his squad off to a 1-0 lead. The slim advantage carried through to midway into the 2nd half when DCM Jaden Lerch serves a pinballing corner kick that finds striker Isaac Roz’s foot. Roz makes no mistake about burying the ball into the short side netting. Outside back Harrison Fournier provides 80 stalwart minutes on the back line. Defensive mates Jack French and Will Knight also prove equal to the task.

Keepers wild in 4-2 Bow win against Conval
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerTKeepers Trey Catenza and Gabe Abberton combine for 10 saves against rival Cougars. Catenza thwarts three first half breakaway chances helping his side to a 2-0 midpoint score. Abberton delivers a sound 2-2 second half score to secure the win for his crew. Caden Bechtold and Isaac Roz get the finishers in the 1st half. Bechtold slots a left footer from 15 yards out on a lovely touch off pass from DCM Wes Catenza. Roz’s goal comes on an uncharacteristically pedestrian scrum that squeaks by the Cougar goal line. The 3rd Falcon strike is highlight reel material. Bechtold adds an assist with a clinical 25 yard cross to the PK area that Bryce Gervais heads perfectly into the far corner for the eventual game winner. Roz puts the game out of reach with a crisp left footed breakaway tally.

Bow bends but doesn’t break in 2-1 away win in Hollis
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerEli Ordway cashes in his 2nd regular season goal for the game winner against the Cavaliers at H-B. CB Jack French launches a 30 yard pass to striker Caden Bechtold who collects and shakes off a couple defenders to slot a smooth finishing touch into the lower left corner of the goal to draw first blood. “Fort” Harrison Fournier and captain Jack French don’t give away a challenge on the back line. Ordway’s goal seemed to seal the win until the HB Cavaliers had a 79th minute goal mouth strike to wipe the Bow clean sheet away. A scrambling last ditch effort by Hollis almost catches the Falcons off guard, but Bow hangs on for a 3rd straight victory.

Bow level 3-3 with John Stark Generals
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerThe vastly improved John Stark Generals give the Falcons all they could handle in a 3-3 draw in Bow. Newly minted starting midfielder Carter Conklin steals the spotlight with a goal, an assist, and what seemed like a rope on the ball. Striker Isaac Roz finds the twine twice for goals #14 & 15 of the season. An unfriendly post and a couple standout saves from the Generals keeper kept the hats from flying yet again for Roz. With varsity call up Caden Bechtold out of the lineup for JV, Eli Ordway slides seamlessly into the center attacking midfield position and gathers a helper on Roz’s first strike. The Generals take advantage of a favorable call to even at 3 late in the game.

Black Bears prolong Falcon’s slide with 4-3 win
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerDespite early Falcon goals from Bryce Gervais and Jaden Lerch, the Coe-Brown bears bounce back with 4 goals to take a 4-2 lead late into the match. A Bow formation change garners a 75th minute goal by Caden Bechtold, but it was too little too late. Bechtold and Eli Ordway helped their squad stay close with an assist each. Standout play from outside back Will Knight, midfielders Jaden Lerch and the aforementioned Ordway also help keep fans anxiously watching the scoreboard clock till the final whistle.

Oyster River humble JV Falcons 6-0 in homecoming debacle
Boys Junior Varsity SoccerAnticipation was high for a Saturday morning matchup of 2 unbeatens. 2 teams showed up, but only 1 came to play. The visiting Bobcats pile in 3 goals in each half to hand the Falcons a humbling homecoming beat down. Substitute coach Mrs. V attempts to right the ship at the half with a change in the formation, but to no avail. Man of the match goes to the referee – for blowing the final, merciful whistle.
